The City, of Oryon.
When the Mencolian Coalition established Oryon, it was created to be the crown jewel of the Coalition’s empire which spanned seven thousand universes, and three galaxies. And two or three sub-dimensions. The third sub-dimension was in doubt of ownership due to the ongoing war the Coalition was having with the creatures inhabiting said dimension. The Mencolian brought their beliefs and most of the societal standards when they first colonized Thrae-Dos. The core of the city of Oryon societal belief, was in the preservation of the planet’s ecosystem. The city of Oryon was the size of a country. All cities on Thrae-Dos are of a country size. Oryon was the birthplace of the third member of the Mencolian Coalition. It was given very special treatment because of that fact. The buildings were almost as close to the stratosphere as any buildings on Thrae-Dos can get. 8Ball’s apartment building was small. It was only five hundred thousand feet high. It was made of a dull gray marble brick substance.
Traffic on street level, was congested. Someone had the notion of actual ground level transportation. Groundrunners they were called. Movement on the ground using tires. It became all the rage on Thrae-Dos. ‘Less traffic in the sky.’ Someone said about them. Less traffic, just more on the ground. 8Ball stepped out of the entrance way of his apt. The twin doors slid open on hydraulic hinges. A hovering door droid wished him ‘good morning’ by tipping its black top hat with thin, shiny metallic hands. 8Ball did not return the courtesy.
He wore a sharp, ivory white suit, with matching suit shirt, coat, and a thin black tie. Shoes matching the tie. His hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The Cukhale approached 8Ball slowly. 8Ball looked at his silver time dial on his right wrist. The Cukhale’s blade was the color of aqua blue. Oryonians walking by, parted out of the Cukhale’s way. Some were angry at the inconvenience, but seeing 8Ball, said nothing and kept walking.
